What to Watch & Read When Ethnicity Comes Back to Haunt You

Continuing on the big, nappy subject of a black woman's hair, here are two links I've so enjoyed in response to the previous post, When Ethnicity Comes Back to Haunt You. Thanks Becki and Cathy!

1) Chris Rock's Documentary, Good Hair.
I am definitely dependent upon creamy crack. It burns baby, it burns--but it works wonders. I'm excited to see this!

2) "Zahara Jolie-Pitt & the Politics of Uncombed Hair"A critical view of what white folk might do with an adopted black girl's hair. And particularly, wealthy, famous white folk named Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Two very interesting links. So I got my hair cut last week and my hair dresser was telling me about Brazilian Blowout (you can google it). It is a natural way to smooth and relax hair. It is kind of spendy, but no more than getting it relaxed, she said. Anyway, I thought of you. :)
